Important Information Regarding Coronavirus  (COVID-19)

We pledge to put forth our best efforts in slowing the spread of COVID-19 while operating within the best practice guidelines pertaining to the reopening of our church.  While returning to a corporate worship setting is our goal, our number one priority is the health and safety of all our members and visitors.  That is our standard, goal, and pledge.

Magazine St. will be closed until April 4, 2020

March 13, 2020

In light of the concerns expressed by our city officials and in an effort to help prevent the spread of any further cases of coronavirus, Pastor Thornton and the leadership team at Magazine St. have decided to cancel worship services, meetings, and activities at the church for the remainder of this month.  However, we still want you to receive a Word each week, so beginning this Sabbath we will be broadcasting a very special message from Pastor Thornton entitled "Get Rid of the Frogs!"  Tune in to our YouTube channel and Facebook page at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow morning to watch.  We will also post messages on the 21st & 28th.  At this moment, we plan to resume normal services on April 4, 2020 but we will keep you posted.

In the meantime, there have been questions/concerns about sending your tithe & offering.  Please utilize the Online Giving portal on the church's website to return your tithe and offering.  You may also mail your offerings to the church.

We want to assure you that while Magazine is closed, we are taking the proper steps to clean and sanitize the building as we prepare to resume our services in April.  During this time we ask that you check on each other via phone, especially our seniors.  We will continue to communicate any changes to our services via OneCall, our website (, and our Facebook page.

Announcement regarding COVID-19

March 11, 2020

Please know, as your Pastor, we are keeping each one of you in prayer regarding the Coronavirus situation that is sweeping across our nation and the world.
God has not given us a “spirit of fear, but love and a sound mind.”  That said, I have called an emergency meeting with all the Elders of Magazine to discuss and determine proactively the best course to take to ensure the safety and well being of our entire membership with respect to all of our Worship Services, Church activities, and Social gatherings, going forward.

It is recommended that the elderly and those over 60 years of age with serious medical challenges and are susceptible to the virus, refrain from attending social gatherings for the protection of all.  Our bottom line is the wellness of our entire Church Family.  Stay tuned for further updates via OneCall and on our Church Website and Social Media page.   🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
